Factors include environmental and sustainability reporting and transparency, regulatory, litigation and reputation risk, shareholder interests and brand integrity, board structure, accountability and executive compensation, and select negative screening.
About B Corp Certification
B Corporation is a certification that requires the completion of an impact assessment and receiving a score of at least 80 out of 200 points. Firms must also complete a legal requirement specific to their corporate structure and state of incorporation and sign the B Corp Declaration of Independents and Term Sheet. B Lap is a nonprofit organization that coordinates the B Corp certification. Appleseed Capital is not affiliated with B Lab. The firm pays a small annual membership fee to support the B Lab organization and its efforts to create a global movement of people using business as a force for good™. The certification is not indicative of future performance and is only one of many factors relevant in determining whether to retain an investment adviser. The certification may not be representative of any one client’s experience. Please contact the B Lab for further information about the B Corps.
